I would be lying if I say that it’s so easy to leave my kids behind and have fun on my own because it is not. I always have anxiety and a feeling of guilt whenever I decide whether to go out or not. But sometimes you just have to face the fact that you need to recharge and give yourself time to be better on what you do. So, a few weeks ago I finally decided to go out and have fun with one of my bestfriends, Carol. She is always a person you can depend, on where to eat or what you need to do. Or sometimes, you can just sit together and chat the day away.
After I dropped off the kids to my mom’s house (without tears) we started our day at Limon Rotisserie at Walnut Creek. Of course, food comes first before anything else including enjoying that margarita after finishing all the food in a flash. I am not sure if I am just super hungry that day but I sure love the food that my dear friend chose. We did not dare miss dessert of course.
When lunch is done we just crossed the street and arrived at the Lesher Center for the Arts to watched ballet. Omg! I totally felt that I am getting older. 🙂 I used to have a different vision of what a girls out is but believe it or not I always loved plays and dance. Anything with movement and singing always seems to relax me, a lot of times I daydream that I am the one doing it but reality check no singing for me. Hahahau
Then off to the city. Nope, we did not go clubbing or anything we settled in a small restaurant to watch flamenco. It’s totally my first time and I will never think of it but I am with a friend who loves adventure and just enjoying every moment in life ( that’s probably her motto). 🙂 It was a total adventure that we did not check the menu, only to sit down and realize that instead of eating steak we are on a vegetarian place! Yup, my dear self who is just starting to enjoy vegetables is going to eat like a pro on it. 🙂 Let’s just say that my lasagna has almonds in it and the appetizer is spinach (really having a flashback right now). But of course, we laugh it off and why not try it. The place was busy and crowded towards the end of the night (I got lucky taking the picture when it was empty) but at that moment I am just relaxed and happy for how the day went.
I did had a call from my husband that his car broke down on his way to work and my mom getting stressed with the kids. But at that time I can’t really do much except to coordinate in the phone and pray. Luckily, everything turned out fine. My hubby made it to work safe via Lyft and I picked up the kids with my 2 year old totally knocked out and my older one saying he had so much fun with my mom (especially when they decided to put slime on their hair while grandma is on her phone). It was tiring, probably getting a little older contributed to it, but like what I texted my friend, “That was fun! let’s do it again!” 🙂
