Contain it!

It has always been hard for me to organize until I met containers. It comes in different forms and beauty, there is no way that you cannot find the perfect one for you. You just have to open your mind to the possibilities. But before we get all excited and go crazy buying all the containers or storage boxes that we see. Let’s start asking ourselves 1. What is it for? 2. What is the look that I like? 3. Is it within my budget? Also, we have to remember that a container is not a dumping ground for all of our stuff that we don’t know what to do (I have to remind myself on this, too) and just want to keep out of sight. We still have to declutter and make sure everything has a purpose and a home.

With that in mind, allow me to share a few of my favorite containers.

I like this green Bigso Marten storage box. It is both elegant and functional. I use this at my home office to sort mails or paperwork and at times my son’s artwork.
This airtight OXO container is truly functional as you can see what is in it and at the same time keep snacks or ingredients fresh. Labels are just a plus, I use dry erase pen to write expiration dates and cooking instructions on the side.
Plastic containers are most useful for bigger items or things that you wanna keep a constant supply like paper towels, toilet paper and kids’ diapers. Having everything in one container makes an area tidier and adding labels make finding things easier.
Last but not the least, wire baskets. Aside from the fact that it keeps things visible, it is also stylish. You can use this in different places at home, it just depends on what look or purpose that you want.

There are more containers out there, we just have to look carefully and truly see what it is for and how it can help us. How about you what is your favorite container or storage boxes?
